Eurotunnel has released figures indicating it has broken its record for the number of cars carried on Passenger Shuttles this summer, with 14, 975 passenger vehicles being taken through the Channel Tunnel on 14 August 2010. This was made up of 14,825 cars on 150 coaches going from both directions, and is higher than the previous daily record set in 1999, when sales were boosted by duty-free shopping.
